Young Lawyers Division Executive Committee Meeting

I. Approval of January Minutes.
II.American Cancer Society Bike-A-Thon
Jeff Abramowitz, Co-Chair of American Cancer Society Bike-A-Thon, invited the YLD to participate in the American Cancer Society Bike-A-Thon, which is scheduled to take place on Sunday, July 11. The Bike-A-Thon will include over 3,000+ cyclists starting over the Ben Franklin Bridge and ending in Lenape Park in South Jersey. Jeff hopes to raise $1 million in one day to fight cancer, which will be a new record for the Bike-a-thon
III. Variety Club
Joe Sweeney, Chairman of the Old Newsboys Day and member of The Variety Club, invited the YLD to participate in Old Newsboys Day, which is scheduled to take place on Friday, June 11 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
IV. Social Committee
Nicole reported that the next Happy Hour is scheduled for Wednesday, May 5 from 68 p.m. at Alma de Cuba.
V. CELEBRATE CARNIVALE: The Spring Gala
Fran reported that the Gala was a huge success. She personally thanked all YLD members who worked diligently to secure sponsors and who purchased tickets.
VI. Law Week Recap
Natalie asked that each chairperson give a report on the activities scheduled during Law Week.
Shanese reported that Stepping Out for Seniors is scheduled for Tuesday, May 4 at the Philadelphia High School for Girls.
Mariam reported that Doctor/Lawyer in the Classroom is scheduled for Thursday, May 6 at Albert M. Greenfield Middle School from 10:15-11:15 a.m.
Carl deferred all questions regarding Lawyer in the Classroom Dr. Ruth Horwitz.
In May Mons absence, Kim reported that Lawyer for a Day is scheduled for Friday, May 7 at the Philadelphia Bar Association offices and will feature World B. Free and Pedro Ramos, Philadelphia City Solicitor.
Victoria reported that Law Fair is scheduled for Wednesday, May 5 from 12-2 p.m. at the Gallery Mall.
