Young Lawyer’s Division Executive Committee Meeting

  1. American Red Cross Blood Services
    1. Came and spoke to the Board about the legal market as a test initiative to have people give blood
    2. As a board no concrete decision was made.

  2. Minority Scholarship Resolution Discussion
    1. 3 “Major” or the “Big 3”
      1. Barristers, Hispanic, Asian Bar Associations
      2. These 3 would be guaranteed 1 scholarship per organization
      3. Outside of the “Big 3” scholarships would be available
    2. A long discussion was held with no resolution
    3. A teleconference call will be held, with Chairman Michael Hayes
    4. Next month a the Resolution will be voted on

  3. Next YLD Happy Hour
    1. February 23, 2006
    2. Barrister’s Bar
    3. The Barrister’s Association has been invited to join

  4. Mock Trial Competition More volunteers are needed

  5. Spring Fling
    1. Date is May 6, 2006
    2. A more specific update will be given at the February meeting

  6. 20/20 Event
    1. It was well attended
