Bench-Bar Scholarships Available

Scholarships to the 2012 Bench-Bar & Annual Conference are available by lottery to Association Members who are public interest or government service attorneys. To enter the lottery, send your name and organization to Dawn Petit at dpetit@philabar.org by 4 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 10. Each scholarship will include hotel accommodations for one night on Oct. 5 at Revel as well as all conference fees which include CLE programming and all sponsored meals and events. The winners will be announced Wednesday, Sept. 12 via email. You must be a member of the Philadelphia Bar Association
to participate in the scholarship lottery. If you enter the lottery please DO NOT register for the conference or make a hotel reservation. If your name is not selected for one of the scholarships we will honor the Early-Bird discount until Wednesday, Sept. 19.

WIP Happy Hour, School Supply Drive Aug. 28

The Women in the Profession Committee's Public Service Task Force will hold its annual Pencils & Pinot happy hour and school supply drive on Tuesday, Aug. 28 at Ladder 15.

The Young Lawyers Division, in conjunction with the Board Observation Program, will present a basic introduction to fundraising sources with C. Terrill Thompson on Monday, Sept. 17.

This session will also explore the role of board members in fundraising, barriers to making "the ask" and tips for successful fundraising. This session will also discuss the importance of integrating fundraising into other aspects of nonprofit organizations.

The Barristers' Association of Philadelphia will hold its 62nd Annual Installation of Executive and Advisory Board Members on Wednesday, Sept. 12 at The Union League, 140 S. Broad St.
