Federal Courts CommitteeNOTICE1. The United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania is participating in a national Digital Audio File Electronic Access Pilot Program. The pilot program has been authorized by the Judicial Conference of the United States and provides digital audio files of court proceedings through the Public Access to Court Electronic Records (PACER) system.
The Federal Court's committee serves as an informal liaison between the Federal courts covering the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the members of the bar. The Committee's work includes informing the members with regard to changes in Federal practice and procedure as well as serving as a "sounding board" for proposals for Federal court reforms. The Committee organizes the Federal Bench/Bar Conference, held each year in the Spring, which provides a forum for the interchange of ideas among the bench and bar, educates the bar with regard to practice in the courts and encourages civility in the courts. When directed by the Board of Governors, and after due notice to the bar, the committee makes public statements on relevant subjects in the name of the Association.
