This event attracts nearly 1,000 runners and walkers of all ages each year, and is one of the oldest and most respected events of its kind in the city of Philadelphia! Registration the day of the event will take place from 7:15-8:15 a.m. at the entry to Martin Luther King Drive adjacent to the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Awards: T-shirts will be presented to all participants who finish the Run and the Walk. Special prizes will be given to runners/walkers who collect more than $250 in pledges! Team Competition: Post-Run Festivities: Results: For More Information: About Child AdvocatesThe goal of the Philadelphia Bar Association 5K Run/5K Walk is to benefit the work of the Support Center for Child Advocates. The agency will use the 2006 event proceeds to support their vital mission of service on behalf of needy children in Philadelphia.The Support Center for Child Advocates works to protect children who have been physically or sexually abused. The agency teams dedicated volunteer attorneys with staff social workers and lawyers, and together they represent their child clients in the city's courtrooms, securing their safety and the services they need in order to heal. Each year, Child Advocates serves nearly 700 children--helping them testify in court against their abusers, finding safe, permanent places for them to live, and making sure that each child is in school and recieving appropriate care and treatment, Child Advocates welcomes volunteers to provide legal or medical services and to participate in fundraising efforts and their annual toy drive.
