The Civil Rights Committee is hosting a panel addressing the current judicial crisis in Pakistan, the lawyers' movement for the restoration of democracy, media censorship, and the recent election results The meeting will be held on Thursday, March 6 at 12:00 p.m. in the 11th Floor Conference Center of the Philadelphia Bar Association.
The panelists are Hamid Khan, Former President, Supreme Court Bar Association of Pakistan, Senior Vice President, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (political party); Sahibzada Anwar Hamid, Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of Pakistan, arrested in 2007 and illegally held in detention for 15 days; and Shahid Buttar, Civil Rights Lawyer, Muslim Advocates.
The session will be moderated by Ryan Hancock, Assistant Chief Counsel, Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission.
