25th Annual Charity Run Set for May 16
It is time to start getting in shape for the 25th annual Philadelphia Bar Association Charity Run. This yearÂ’s run, which will include a 5-kilometer run and a 5-kilometer walk, will start and finish on West River Drive adjacent to the Philadelphia Museum of Art on Sunday, May 16 at 8:30 a.m. for runners are 8:35 for walkers.
The beneficiaries of the race will again be the American Diabetes Association and the Support Center for Child Advocates, both of which have programs for supporting children. Last year, nearly more than 500 participants helped raise almost $60,000 for the American Diabetes Association and the Support Center for Child Advocates.
The 5k run/walk will be open to not only the public, but also will have a Philadelphia Bar Association competition for members of the Bar only. In addition, there will be team competition for law firms and for companies.
Race entry fees are as follows for registrations postmarked by May 12: $18 for individual runners, $35 for Bar member runners, $15 for all walkers, $50 for a family of walkers. Fees for registrations made the day of the event are as follows: $25 for individual runners, $50 for Bar member runner, 5k Walk fees are unchanged. As in prior years, there will be refreshments and giveaways to everyone participating.
