As a public service and to better inform the process of making newspaper endorsements in the May 15 Pennsylvania Primary, the Committee of Seventy and the editorial boards of the Philadelphia Daily News and The Philadelphia Inquirer held a public forum for Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas candidates on Friday, April 27 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
The Philadelphia Bar Association served as a community partner in this program. A two-part podcast of the forum can be heard here and here.
The event was moderated by Lynn A. Marks, executive director of Pennsylvanians for Modern Courts. Marks coordinated questioning by members of the newspapers' editorial boards and audience members. Candidates were invited to present a two-minute summary of their credentials, after which the panel members posed questions.
