WHEREAS, the Philadelphia Bar Association has established guidelines for the filing of an amicus curiae brief; and

WHEREAS, the proposed amicus curiae brief meets said guidelines in that the issues presented in the brief are of compelling interest to the Philadelphia legal community and involve fundamental principles of law about which there is a consensus of support by Association membership.

Summers; Stradley, Ronon, Stevens & Young and Sandra A. Girifalco; and Stevens and Lee and Daniel B. Huyett on the issues of whether the United States District Court abused its discretion by sanctioning said Appellants for asserting general objections to discovery and whether the District Court’s sanctions create the risk of impairing the ability of attorneys to provide zealous advocacy to their clients in the Third Circuit, to be filed with the Third Circuit Court of Appeals in the case of Grider v. Keystone Health Plan Central, Inc., et al.
