WHEREAS, the Philadelphia Bar Association publishes The Philadelphia Lawyer and The Philadelphia Bar Reporter which are mailed to every member of the Association;

WHEREAS, significant savings can be achieved by mailing these publications at the “periodical rate”;

WHEREAS, The Domestic Mail Manual: Section 5.1.2 (b) requires a specific allocation of dues be made for the cost of said publications in order to obtain said periodical rate;

WHEREAS, the actual cost to the Philadelphia Bar Association of said publications is $5 per year for both, per member;

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the publication statements of said publications be amended to include the following language

“Subscription cost for members is $5 which is included in annual dues, and for nonmembers is $45 yearly.”
