RESOLUTION OF THE PHILADELPHIA BAR ASSOCIATION BOARD OF GOVERNORS CONGRATULATING THE PHILADELPHIA EAGLES ON WINNING THE 2004 NATIONAL FOOTBALL CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP AND SUPPORTING THE TEAM ON THE ROAD TO VICTORY IN SUPER BOWL XXXIX
WHEREAS, the Philadelphia Eagles are the 2004-05 National Football Conference Champions; and,
WHEREAS, the Philadelphia Eagles will represent the NFC, Philadelphia and those who live and work in the region, in Super Bowl XXXIX, in Jacksonville, Florida, on Sunday, February 6, 2005; and,
WHEREAS, it has been twenty-four years since the Eagles played in the Super Bowl; and,
WHEREAS, the Philadelphia Bar Association and its members share with the Eagles organization, its players, coaches, staff and ownership the pursuit of excellence, professionalism and pride in our community; and,
WHEREAS, the Eagle represents both Philadelphia's football team and America; and,
WHEREAS, the birthplace of American Democracy, the founding of the oldest Metropolitan Bar Association, the signing of the Declaration of Independence and the drafting of the Constitution all took place in Philadelphia, not Boston; and,
WHEREAS, the Philadelphia Bar Association enthusiastically supports the Eagles in their efforts to win Super Bowl XXXIX and bring the Vince Lombardi Trophy to Philadelphia.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Philadelphia Bar Association congratulates the Philadelphia Eagles on winning the 2004 National Football Conference and wishes the team the best of luck in winning Super Bowl XXXIX.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chancellor or his designee shall communicate this resolution to the Philadelphia Eagles organization.
