WHEREAS, the Board of Governors adopted a resolution on June 29, 2006 supporting a proposed revision to Rule 1925 that was supported by the Appellate Courts Committee and also by the Allegheny County Bar Associations Appellate Practice Committee and the Pennsylvania Bar Associations Appellate Advocacy Committee;
WHEREAS, the Appellate Court Procedural Rules Committee of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court considered that proposal and recently published a recommendation for revision of Rule 1925 that embraced many of the proposals suggestions;
WHEREAS,the period for comment on the Rules Committees recommendation closes on October 31, 2006 and Appellate Courts Committee recommends to the Board of Governors that the Rules Committees recommendation be supported and its enactment encouraged.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Philadelphia Bar Association supports the adoption of the proposal of the Appellate Court Procedural Rules Committee to amend Rule 1925 of the Pennsylvania Rules of Appellate Procedure.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chancellor is hereby authorized to communicate this position to the Appellate Court Procedural Rules Committee of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.
